Chlorinated polyethylene thermoplastic resin is an excellent impact modifier widely used in PVC extrusion and injection molding (including profile, plate and pipe
Description:
Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE135A) is white powder chloridized from high-density polyethylene. This product is a kind of elastomer with excellent resistance to oil, ozone and good fire resistance property. It has good mutual solubility with PVC, many kinds of plastic and rubber. It is main impact modifier of PVC and toughening agent of ABS, CPVC, PP, PS plastic.

The primary function of CPE 135A is to improve the impact strength of rigid PVC products. Our CPE 135A features a homogeneous particle structure and uniform chlorine distribution, which ensures excellent dispersion in the PVC matrix and consistent impact performance. At typical loadings of 8-12 phr, CPE 135A can increase the impact strength of rigid PVC by 3-10 times compared to unmodified formulations, with reliable performance even at temperatures as low as -30°C.
Thanks to its fully saturated molecular backbone (no double bonds), CPE 135A offers outstanding resistance to UV radiation, ozone, and weathering. This makes it particularly suitable for outdoor PVC applications such as window profiles, siding, fencing, and pipe systems exposed to sunlight. Unlike some other impact modifiers, CPE 135A does not degrade or discolor under prolonged UV exposure.
CPE 135A exhibits excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, oils, and most organic solvents — a direct benefit of its chlorinated structure. Additionally, the chlorine content provides inherent flame retardant properties, which can help reduce the total flame retardant loading required in fire-critical PVC applications such as cable compounds and building materials.
VIKEM's CPE 135A is engineered for consistent processing performance across extrusion, injection molding, and calendering processes. Its uniform particle size and controlled molecular weight ensure smooth fusion behavior, stable melt viscosity, and minimal plate-out on equipment surfaces. This translates into fewer production interruptions, lower scrap rates, and more consistent product quality.
CPE 135A is compatible not only with PVC but also with a wide range of other polymers including PE, PP, ABS, and CPVC. It can be used as the primary impact modifier or combined with other modifiers (such as MBS or acrylic impact modifiers) to achieve specific performance balances. This versatility makes it a staple additive across many different PVC product categories.
Compared to alternative impact modifiers like MBS or acrylic impact modifiers, CPE 135A delivers strong impact performance at a significantly lower cost. It also offers better weatherability than MBS, making it the preferred choice for outdoor applications where both performance and cost efficiency matter.
