CPE135A

CPE 135A is a chlorinated polyethylene resin widely recognized as the most cost-effective impact modifier for rigid PVC formulations. Produced through the chlorination of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), CPE 135A combines rubber-like elasticity with PVC compatibility, making it an essential additive in PVC pipe, profile, sheet, and fitting manufacturing.
At VIKEM NEW MATERIAL, we supply CPE 135A with consistent quality, reliable supply chains, and competitive pricing — backed by our technical team's formulation support. Whether you're producing PVC water pipes, window profiles, decorative sheets, or cable compounds, our CPE 135A helps you achieve the impact resistance and processing stability your products require.

Description:

Chlorinated polyethylene (CPE135A) is white powder chloridized from high-density polyethylene. This product is a kind of elastomer with excellent resistance to oil, ozone and good fire resistance property. It has good mutual solubility with PVC, many kinds of plastic and rubber. It is main impact modifier of PVC and toughening agent of ABS, CPVC, PP, PS plastic.

What Is CPE 135A?

CPE 135A is a white, free-flowing powder manufactured by chlorinating high-density polyethylene resin. The "135A" designation indicates a chlorine content of approximately 35% and an amorphous rubber-like structure that provides excellent impact modification performance.

Unlike rigid PVC resin, which is inherently brittle, CPE 135A acts as a rubbery phase dispersed within the PVC matrix. When a PVC product is subjected to impact, the CPE rubber particles absorb and dissipate the impact energy, preventing crack propagation and dramatically improving the material's toughness — especially at low temperatures.

CPE 135A is valued not only for its impact modification capability but also for its excellent weatherability, chemical resistance, and flame retardant properties — advantages that stem from its saturated molecular structure and chlorine content.

Key Composition & Structure

  • Base material: High-density polyethylene (HDPE)

  • Chlorine content: 35% ± 2%

  • Structure: Amorphous rubber-type (resin grade, type A)

  • Form: White free-flowing powder

  • CAS No.: 63231-66-9

Typical Applications & Recommended Dosage

CPE 135A is used across a wide spectrum of rigid and semi-rigid PVC products. The following table provides general dosage guidelines:
